Have you seen my...?

I have a confession to make. I'm prone to clutter things. I try my best to keep my home in orderly fashion, but I am guilty of cluttering when I don't have my home as priority, a shame. Though clutterers have their flaws of being well, cluttery, it's amazing how they know exactly where everything is. Sadly for me, I'm not that high class of a clutterer. My former roomie, Grace, can attest that I've asked her countless times, "Graaaace, have you seen my....?" You would think that I would try harder to remember where I misplaced something since I've proven to myself that I fall short of being a smart clutterer, but I guess I'm still confident that I'll remember. But of course, I forget.

More than anything, there is one thing that I really hate cluttered - my jewelery. Cluttered mail, I can handle, but I've had enough with unorganized jewelery. They can be easily misplaced, tangled, and messy and it's just not worth it. I mean, what do you do with just one earring if its pair is missing?!?!  Anyway, so then this problem gave birth to my jewelery board.

I used an old cork board from college that was just collecting dust.

Then I went to Joann's and bought some fabric and lace.

Hot glued them to the board and waited for it to dry and I was done, pretty simple! Finally, I organized my jewelery and I have to say that my morning routine has been a little easier since. :)

  1. that's pretty (and) cool.
How do you get your earrings to hang? What do you do with the backs of studs?

  2. junia, I used pins to hang my earrings (you can get pretty ones but i just used plain ol' sewing pins). I also hot glued styrofoam to the corkboard so that my studs can easily go in. I just keep the back of my studs in that little green tea bag thingy along with a lot of my other junk like bobbypins and hair ties. I guess that's kinda still cluttered huh? :)

  5. its a long story. the night i bought hanna's engagement ring, andrew and jen went with me to make the purchase. we had dinner together at tomatina after, and during dinner the table next to us was drinking wine. jen all of a sudden goes HEY to the waiter and we're all like what the. turns out the wine the table next to us was drinking was called Hanna. jen saw the bottle. we asked the waiter for hte bottle and he was all like...uh...let me ask my manager. later on he came back to us and said here you go, i washed it for you. so i brought it home. initially i was gonna save it and use it for the proposal but i didn't. and eventually....hanna just found it in my closet. whoops.
