Dumplings for Valentine's

This wasn't our year for the superbowl, but this is our year of the tiger. So happy lunar/chinese/korean new year everyone, or as my mother-in-law would say, xin nian kuai le! For the new year we set a new tradition. Dumplings. Lots and lots of dumplings...from scratch! We had so much fun making our little dumplings and cooking mandu dduk-gook (rice cake soup).

The filling - ground pork, beef, chives, and tofu

Richard likes a lot of filling in his dumpling. He made some beautiful looking dumplings, must be in his chinese blood.

I couldn't resist! Sorry if it offends you, but c'mon, isn't it hilarious?!

The final product - boil or fry dumpling...hungry

cooking soup & dumplings

prepping garnish for dduk gook!

the fruits of our labor - dinner! it was fabulous & delicious!

full & happy :)
