Dealing with Love
Without a doubt, the biggest hit of 2010 is Monopoly Deal. I'm sorry to break it to you, but if you're wondering "what is the big deal about Monopoloy deal?" you are way missing out. After hearing the word that this game is a must have, Richard and I decided to add to our board game collection of two. I didn't think that a deck of cards could be so satisfying until I played my first round. Then I realized they were right - Monopoly Deal is a big deal. The best thing about this game is that it makes a great 2 player game and that is how the Monopoly Deal game series at the Lo household began.
I hate to admit it, but this game gives me a rush of adrenalin. Every time I draw my two cards, I hope for a Deal Breaker....and when I see that glorious purple card it is gameovers. But I have to put on my game face and pretend I'm going to lose which I know is not going to happen because I never lose when I play with Richard. We agree that best out of 3 games wins the title of Monopoly Deal Champion. At least that's how it always starts. Last night we were playing best out of 3 and Richard won the first round and I won the second. We were head to head going into the final round, and can you believe it? Richard won. I went berzerk and without making any sense, I convinced him that I need to show him mercy and allow him to redeem himself by changing the rules to best out of 5. He agreed.
This is what I love about Richard. He puts up with my nonsense and plays along. Not only is he selfless when we play games, but more importantly he is generous in every aspect of our marriage and always yields to my preferences and desires. I respect him so much because he is my example of selfless giving. Thank you for that, Richard. And thank you for knowing how much joy it gives me to win a stupid game in Monopoly Deal...because I never win at things like this. Because of you I am the Lo household Monopoly Deal Champion. Can I gloat a little now?

Tim and I really like playing this too!! :) However, we made it more challenging for us because the game was too quick. We made it so that it required 4 sets (instead of 3) to win.
